A Glittering Peril

Jewels:

desirable…alluring…dangerous.

Queen Elizabeth I is starting her annual journey around the kingdom, accompanied by hundreds of courtiers, ladies and servants.  They intend to visit a series of towns and country estates, but things go wrong from the very beginning when a beggar’s corpse is left in the queen’s path and one of the court clerks goes missing.  

Then, at the queen’s very first stop, a stranger infiltrates the house in the middle of the night and steals all the diamonds in the house.  Just the diamonds…and the queen’s special ‘B’ necklace that she inherited from her mother, the tragic Anne Boleyn.

Lady Catrin Surovell is tasked with finding out who has stolen the jewels, and why.  It is a difficult and dangerous task that only becomes more difficult when some of the jewels are found…under the body of a man she knows well.

Is he the villain, or the victim?
